Here's a way guitar players and collectors can
get some plastic out of our lives and bring in a bit more natural
wood
There have been literally tens of millions of guitars produced over
the last 60 years, almost all of wood, yet the many classic model
types have plastic pickguards that can shrink, warp, become brittle,
crack and split apart
Plastic pickguards scratch and dull over time, and cannot be readily
repaired, buffed out nor refinished.
Many guitar players claim tone improvement when wood replaces plastic,
and certainly the esthetic appeal of wood far surpasses that of plastic
for most musicians.
What we have here, in these wood laminate pickguards are relatively
unique and beautiful works that appeals to every electric guitar and
bass player I have showed them to.

WoodPickGuard.com is currently finishing it's
workshop in Rialto, California and will be starting new work in a
few days
You can email Erik for
custom order information
Some changes we are making:
Using thinner Birch 3 and 4 ply so completed parts will be from about
.060" to .090" thickness, cooresponding to the dimensions
of the plastic it is replacing
We are considering offering only oil finishes or unfinished wood pickguards .. just don't like currently available plastic clears and having this done professionally in a clean spray booth environment is prohibitively expensive
